Relay module 10 A – mikroBUS compatible

This is simple but useful relay module compatible with mikroBUS sockets. It was designed using Autodesk EAGLE free edition.

The relay is a G5LE from Omron rated for 10A and up to 250 VAC. This module includes all the components to drive the coil using digital signals. An LED provides visual feedback when the coil is energized.

The relay module is designed to be activated with a HIGH level from the microcontroller. The activation signal is hardwired to the CS pin on the mikroBUS socket but can be re-assigned to any of the following pins using solder jumpers:

  • RST
  • PWM
  • INT

To reassign the pins you need to cut a trace in the bottom of the board and then close the corresponding solder jumper using a soldering iron. The signal names for each jumper are clearly labeled on the bottom silkscreen layer.

I very much like the Mikrobus compatible development boards and the click board ecosystem but they’re very difficult to get in my country and very expensive, so it makes sense to design and build them myself.
